This picture of a range-topping E63 AMG was taken by an eagle-eyed member of the public outside a hotel in Madrid, and the design changes – which will apply to cars across the range – are plain to see.
Most notable is the switch from quad headlights to single units either side of the narrower and slimmer grille. The daytime running lamps are built into the headlights, rather than the front bumper, and there are new bumpers front and rear, plus fresh LED tail-lights. And the powerful crease around the rear wheelarch has been axed in favour of a pair of simple parallel lines.
Inside are new instruments and a wider choice of trims, plus the latest version of Mercedes’ on-board infotainment system.
The basic engine range will remain largely unchanged, with emissions reduced slightly. This E63 AMG will top the line-up, featuring a 537bhp 5.5-litre V8, while there are rumours a fuel-sipping 156bhp 1.6-litre turbo could launch when the car goes on sale in the spring.
Baaaaaaaad !!
