Kahn Design Custom Builds

Kahn Design is about making bold statements. The firm, based in Bradford, England, is dedicated to the production of luxury bespoke vehicles and rebuilding monotonous mass produced cars as individually tailored rides. The company was founded by Afzal Kahn, who became interested in car design after learning about plastic moulding from, wait for it, a factory making plastic coffins. Kahn was just 16 when he got his start, owning a modest business selling alloy wheels. 20 years later, he's world renowned for custom car styliing.

Given the location, it is not surprising that Kahn specializes in Range Rovers. However, the game doesn't end there, brilliant supercars, American icons, and German sports sedans flow from the shop as well. We connected with Khan to round up their 10 best custom builds prepared in the last year. Feast your eyes.

Uniquely British design that aims for global dominance, the Capital City edition is testament to Kahn Design's ability to turn the iconic Range Rover into a bespoke masterpiece. The red and white livery includes an aerodynamic Kahn wide arch kit, RS Kahn grille, illuminated Kahn side sill plates, and an incredible interior. How good? Think quilted glove box and a black Swarovski bezel in the clock.

Kahn doesn't just celebrate iconic British trucks. The Military Jeep: Copper Edition is designed with a Bond villain in mind. Details include a front grille industrial mesh, brake calipers finished in copper, mud flaps, side wing blades in carbon, xenon crosshair headlamps, door entry sill plates in stainless steel, Kahn enamel wing shields, fuel filler cap (smoked black), privacy glass, heated seats, floor mats, split level targa roof, aluminum machined foot pedals, Kahn enamel tailgate logo, and a branded rear wheel cover. The way the copper sits on all-black base is just rugged.

Im not a huge fan of the Porsche Panamera. However, in the hands of Khan design, the German sport sedan is a beast. The carbon gray with black exterior matched with red upholstery inside is hard. The styling package includes wide vented front and rear wheel arches with an integrated rear air dam, lower boot wing, Kahn lowered sports suspension system, billet aluminum side vents, privacy tinted glass, red brake calipers, and tinted rear lamps.

Kahn kills it with the Evoque. The firm turns a pretty awesome compact SUV into an real object of desire. The copper orange on this model is a benchmark of customization. Essentially, how it should be done.

As noted, Kahn knows Range Rovers. The 5.0-liter supercharged Range gets a visual makeover and a power boost from Cosworth. We're talking about a copper 4x4 that hits 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. The smooth interior grants comfort to the speedy exterior looks.

Kahn's 458 is Italian excellence made special with a British blueprint. It's a status symbol. Red aluminum alloy surrounds the body, black Daytona leather sport seats shroud the driver. These are just examples of what Kahn can do to a supercar, proof positive of the firm's ability to celebrate clean lines and give individuality to a car while celebrating its own legacy.

This one, we don't mind saying, is the best. Distinctive "KAHN" lettering on the bonnet gives the vehicle an immediate edge. The Dark Tungsten RS250 Evoque is simply the perfect example of what Kahn can do on an aesthetic front.

With a black body contrasting against the "Vesuvius" matte orange roof and bonnet stripe, this Rover is mean! The whole car is color coded too. Inside and outside, it screams for attention. Certainly, this Range Rover isn't for the modest. Then again, why get a custom car build if you're not looking to turn heads?

The problem with the Porsche Cayenne is that it just isn't that sleek. Kahn Design tackles that issue with the Supersport Wide Track, giving the truck vented front and rear wide wheel arches with integrated front and rear air dams, a lower boot lid spoiler, LED daytime running lights for front wheel arch vents, and a sports lowering module. Vented foot pedals in machined aluminum, door handles finished in matte black, brake calipers finished in liquid gold, exterior Kahn enamel wing shields, privacy tinted glass, and a welcome ambient illumination package give the vehicle the small details that show the mark of a true artist. It is a bit eccentric, but it also grants acceptance within the Porsche firmament.

Given that Kahn is all about investing in British industry, there was no way a car that celebrates British tradition wouldn't hold the top spot. In honor of HRH Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, the Westminster Black Label Edition is a real charmer. Not as bold as other designs, his truck looks utilitarian, it's all about a regal experience for the driver.

The package includes RS- front and rear bumper replacements, side skirts, LED daytime running lights in the lower bumper section, LED daytime running lights in the lower front bumper section, brake calipers finished in liquid gold, rear tailgate trim in matte black, and a rear diffuser in matte pearl grey. It's finished with door handles and side vents in matte black, front bumper lower bar in pearl grey, front bumper fog light surrounds in matte black and front grille running bars finished in dark chrome, Kahn vehicle branding, Kahn enamel wing shields and a Kahn enamel tailgate logo. Complete with the sought-after 4HRH number plate, this is a rarity in the custom world.
